Free forever

THDB catalogs horror movies by how they scare — spoiler-free scare profiles and intensity curves instead of a star rating. I build it alone, the community verifies the data, and there are no investors to repay. Free is affordable for a structural reason: every profile is generated once, in batch, and verified by people — there is no per-visit AI cost, so the archive stays affordable to keep alive: a real bill, but one a single person can carry.

The data is free forever — every scare profile, intensity curve, and community feature. If we ever charge for anything, it will only be for optional extras on top; the data itself will never be part of the price.

By name, so there's no wiggle room later:

• — Every scare profile and all fear-texture axes.
• — Every intensity curve.
• — Search, “movies like X” pages, and tag pages.
• — All community features: reviews, corrections, the trust ladder, verification.
• — Accounts, watchlists, and Watch Together.
• — And if the catalog ever includes strobe or photosensitivity warnings, those are safety data, not a perk — free, no exceptions.

Maybe it never does. If it does, the principle is already fixed: the data stays free, and Pro would only ever be optional extras on top of it. I'm deliberately not promising features, dates, or prices here.

One commitment I will keep: Pro won't exist until the community data layer is dense enough to be worth paying for.

The costs are real but bounded — batch AI generation and modest hosting, closer to a hobby than a business. If you ever want to support the project, that door will be open someday; for now, the most valuable thing you can give is a review of a profile you've watched.
