How scary is My Bloody Valentine?
Watching this feels like being at a gory carnival ride, gross-out kills followed by a laugh and then another kill. The pace moves fast between short calm stretches and sudden, over-the-top pickaxe attacks, with the camera lingering on the blood and gore rather than building slow dread. The threat is a masked killer, not anything supernatural, so the fear is all about the body count and how creative the kills get. It's a fun watch-with-friends slasher meant for laughs and gasps, not something that stays with you after the credits roll.
On The Horror Database's 0–5 scare profile, My Bloody Valentine rates psychological 1/5, visceral 4/5, gore 5/5, lingering effect 1/5, and overall intensity 3/5.
