It feels more like an uneasy character study than a scare machine, told through a radio confession that keeps slipping back into childhood memories. The dread comes from watching a troubled mind explain itself, not from shocks or chases, so the pacing is slow and talky with violence used sparingly. It's more sad and uncomfortable than outright frightening, focused on family damage and warped love rather than physical danger.
