How Late Phases scares
Late Phases takes its time, spending real energy on its blind veteran hero and the odd little retirement community he lives in before the claws come out. Once the werewolf attacks start, they're sudden and physical, with practical creature effects and real blood rather than jump-scare tricks. The scares lean more on tension and the character's vulnerability than on constant shocks, so it plays like a monster movie with some genuine emotion underneath. It's a solid pick if you like old-school creature features with a bit of heart, not something that will haunt you for days.
