An adventure-loving couple convince their friends to explore a remote, uncharted cave system in the forests of Northern Australia. With a tropical storm approaching, they abseil into the mouth of the cave, but when the caves start to flood, tensions rise as oxygen levels fall and the friends find themselves trapped. Unknown to them, the storm has also brought in a pack of dangerous and hungry crocodiles.

How Black Water: Abyss scares
It starts with a group getting trapped by rising flood water in a tight, dark cave, then slowly adds a hungry crocodile into the mix once the walls start closing in. Most of the tension comes from claustrophobia, low oxygen, and not being able to see what's coming through the murky water, rather than nonstop attacks. There are bursts of physical danger and some sudden gory moments, but the dominant feeling is being trapped and running out of options. It's a decent pick if you like survival horror with a nature-gone-wrong threat rather than ghosts or masked killers.
