How House of the Dead scares
House of the Dead is less a horror movie and more a video game shootout with zombies thrown at the screen. The pace is fast and chaotic, jumping between gunfights and swarms of undead rather than building any real dread. Most of the fear comes from being chased and overwhelmed by numbers, not from anything creeping under your skin. It's the kind of loud, silly, over-the-top movie you watch for laughs with friends, not one that will stick with you after the credits roll.
On The Horror Database's 0–5 scare profile, House of the Dead rates psychological 1/5, visceral 4/5, gore 4/5, lingering effect 1/5, and overall intensity 3/5.
