How scary is Murder Party?
There's an awkward, uncomfortable tension running through most of it, more cringe-inducing than scary, before it tips into sudden bursts of violence played for dark laughs. The pacing is slow and talky for a long stretch, letting the weirdness of the situation build, then it gets messy and bloody in short, chaotic spurts. It's a real-world threat from oddball people, not anything supernatural, and the whole thing leans into dark humor rather than dread. Good for people who like their horror mixed with comedy and don't need to feel genuinely unsettled to enjoy it.
On The Horror Database's 0–5 scare profile, Murder Party rates psychological 2/5, visceral 3/5, gore 3/5, lingering effect 2/5, and overall intensity 2/5.
