How scary is Timber Falls?
It starts off calm, almost like a normal outdoor trip movie, with two people hiking and setting up camp in the woods. Then it slows down just long enough to make you comfortable before flipping hard into a nasty, drawn-out ordeal that doesn't let up for the rest of the runtime. The scares here aren't jump-cut shocks, they're the slow horror of being trapped with people who won't stop coming after you. It's a rough, mean ride more suited to fans of backwoods captivity horror than anyone looking for a fun scare.
On The Horror Database's 0–5 scare profile, Timber Falls rates psychological 2/5, visceral 5/5, gore 4/5, lingering effect 3/5, and overall intensity 4/5.
