How scary is Exorcismus?

It starts slow, playing out like a family drama with a troubled teenager before easing into stranger and more violent territory as the fits and outbursts escalate. The middle stretch leans on mounting dread and a girl's body doing things a body shouldn't, with the occasional jolt rather than constant jump scares. It borrows heavily from other possession movies, so the shape of where it's headed feels familiar rather than surprising. Good for fans of exorcism movies who want a moody, mid-tier version of the genre rather than anything groundbreaking.

On The Horror Database's 0–5 scare profile, Exorcismus rates psychological 3/5, visceral 3/5, gore 2/5, lingering effect 2/5, and overall intensity 3/5.
