How scary is Paranormal Activity 3?
There's a nagging, quiet unease that builds through long stretches of ordinary home life before something suddenly moves wrong in the background of the frame. The camera setups are static and patient, which makes you scan every corner of the shot waiting for a shape to shift, and the payoff comes in sharp, well-placed jolts rather than constant scares. It leans on family dread and childhood fear of the dark more than blood or violence, with the sense of helplessness building steadily toward a intense final stretch. Good for fans of slow, dread-driven found footage who don't mind a patient build for a big payoff.
On The Horror Database's 0–5 scare profile, Paranormal Activity 3 rates psychological 4/5, visceral 2/5, gore 0/5, lingering effect 3/5, and overall intensity 3/5.
