How Untraceable scares
Untraceable builds its fear through a ticking-clock setup where the danger comes from real people doing horrible things, not ghosts or monsters. Most of the tension comes from watching victims trapped in devices they can't escape, knowing that outside attention is literally speeding up their suffering. It leans more upsetting than fun, since the idea of people watching torture online for entertainment gives it a nasty, uncomfortable edge. There aren't a lot of jump scares here; it's more about dread building as the clock runs down.
