The friends Emmett, Freddy, Marie, Kevin and his reluctant girlfriend Jessie decide to spend the Halloween night in an abandoned hospital. Meanwhile, the younger Allan meets the old friend of his father Arlo Ray Baines and asks him to help to find his vanished sister Meg in the same spot. The two groups meet each other in the mental institution section on the haunted third floor.

How Boo scares
Watching this feels like a low-budget haunted house walk-through more than a genuinely scary film, with cheap jolts and flickering lights standing in for real dread. The pace is choppy, hopping between two groups of characters wandering a spooky abandoned hospital until they collide on its creepiest floor. Ghosts and unexplained shadows do most of the work here, not gore or brutal violence. It's the kind of movie you'd put on for a goofy Halloween night with friends, not one that's going to stick with you afterward.
