How Within scares
It opens like a quiet family drama about starting over in a new house, then slowly tightens into a stalking nightmare once you realize someone else might already be inside the walls. The back half shifts into a more frantic home-invasion chase, with jolts and close calls piling up as the family tries to figure out who they can trust. There's no ghost or monster here, just a very real, very patient threat hiding closer than anyone realizes. It's the kind of horror that plays on being watched in your own safe space rather than being drenched in blood.
On The Horror Database's 0–5 scare profile, Within rates psychological 3/5, visceral 4/5, gore 2/5, lingering effect 2/5, and overall intensity 3/5.

How scary is Within?
On The Horror Database's 0–5 intensity scale, Within rates 3/5 — solidly scary, delivering its fear through jump scares more than lingering dread. It works on both fronts, unsettling the mind while going for the body. Expect it to be moderately gory and scary but not punishing. Some of it will follow you to bed, but it lets go within a day or so.
