How Donkey Punch scares
It starts loose and sun-drenched, like a party movie about young people drinking and hooking up on a boat, then tightens into something much darker once one bad decision can't be undone. The back half turns into a tense, ugly survival situation where paranoia and guilt spread between the characters faster than any monster could chase them. There's no ghost or creature here, just people turning on each other, and the violence when it comes is sudden and mean rather than stylish. It's more of a nasty, uncomfortable watch than a fun scare, better suited to fans of grounded thrillers than horror looking for jumps.
