How Burial Ground scares
It wastes almost no time on build-up, opening with dread already in place before quickly tipping into a nonstop siege of shambling undead attacking a house full of guests. Once the attacks start, they barely let up, favoring wet, over-the-top gore effects over quiet tension or mind games. The scares are blunt and physical rather than creeping or cerebral, closer to a gross-out haunted house ride than something that gets under your skin. It's the kind of cult Italian zombie movie people watch for the campy shock value and jaw-dropping weirdness, not for lasting dread, though a couple of its choices are genuinely uncomfortable in a way that sticks with you for the wrong reasons.
