While diving in a remote French lake, a couple of YouTubers who specialise in underwater exploration videos discover a house submerged in the deep waters. What was initially a unique finding soon turns into a nightmare when they discover that the house was the scene of atrocious crimes. Trapped, with their oxygen reserves falling dangerously, they realise the worst is yet to come: they are not alone in the house.

How The Deep House scares
Being trapped underwater in near-total darkness gives this one a constant low-grade panic that sits on top of the scares, since every scary moment also comes with the fear of just running out of air. The pace starts slow, with long stretches of exploring a spooky sunken house through murky water and shaky camera footage, before tightening into sharper shocks and chases once things start going wrong. It leans on tight spaces, limited visibility, and the dread of not being able to just swim away, more than on blood or gore. Good for people who like haunted house scares but want something visually different, with claustrophobia and drowning fears doing a lot of the work.
