How Leviathan scares
It opens slow, letting you get to know a tired, bickering crew stuck on a deep-sea mining base before anything goes wrong, then tightens into a tight, claustrophobic chase once the danger gets loose. Once the mutation starts hunting people down, the movie shifts into a steady rhythm of narrow escapes, gross transformations, and characters getting picked off one by one. The scares lean more on being trapped and chased in tight metal corridors than on getting inside your head, and there's body horror gunk mixed in with the tension. It's closer to a fun monster-movie ride than something that will haunt you, good for fans of creature features and Alien-style survival horror.
