How I Still Know What You Did Last Summer scares
It opens with a bit of lingering dread from the first movie before shifting quickly into a tropical slasher romp full of jump scares and stalking-in-the-dark setups. Once the killer shows up on the island, it's mostly a chase-and-kill rhythm, with characters getting picked off one by one in between beach-vacation fun and bad decisions. The hook-wielding threat is a flesh-and-blood person, not anything supernatural, and the movie leans into cheesy, over-the-top kills more than real dread.
