How scary is Metamorphosis?
It starts as a quiet family drama before slowly tipping into dread, with the horror creeping in through small wrong details rather than one big reveal. As it goes on, the pace picks up with sudden jolts and violent outbursts mixed into long stretches of tension. The scariest part isn't the demon itself but not knowing who around you might already be changed, which makes it deeply unsettling on a mental level. It's more heavy and sad than fun, closer to a family tragedy wrapped in a horror shell than a theme-park scare ride.
On The Horror Database's 0–5 scare profile, Metamorphosis rates psychological 4/5, visceral 3/5, gore 2/5, lingering effect 3/5, and overall intensity 3/5.
