How scary is Alive?
Alive keeps its focus on two people trapped in a crumbling, sterile building, so most of the fear comes from confinement and not knowing who to trust. The pace is slow and heavy, built on unease and small painful discoveries rather than sudden shocks. There's real physical cruelty on screen, and the mystery behind why these two are there adds a layer of mental dread on top of the bodily danger. It's a heavier, more upsetting watch than a fun scare-fest, better suited to viewers who like grim survival stories with a psychological hook.
On The Horror Database's 0–5 scare profile, Alive rates psychological 4/5, visceral 4/5, gore 3/5, lingering effect 3/5, and overall intensity 4/5.
