30 years ago, when members of a religious cult known as Heaven's Veil take their own lives. The truth behind what really happened remains buried deep in the memory of the sole survivor, a five-year-old girl. Now as an adult she returns to the compound with a documentary crew. They soon discover something that is far more terrifying than anything they could have imagined.

How The Veil scares
The Veil sets up a slow investigation into an old cult tragedy before shifting into more conventional jolt-driven scares once the crew starts digging around the abandoned site. Much of the front half leans on unease, decayed buildings, and old footage to build a creeping sense that something is wrong, then the back half leans harder on sudden shocks and eerie visions. The threat ends up feeling otherworldly rather than purely human, though it's dressed in a grounded documentary style. It's a middle-of-the-road horror watch, more unsettling in patches than truly haunting afterward.
