How The Mist scares
There's a suffocating, trapped feeling to this one, like the walls (and the fog outside) are closing in more with every passing minute. Most of the fear comes from not knowing what's out in the mist, mixed with the way fear turns the people trapped inside against each other, which ends up being just as scary as the creatures. It does deliver some big, sudden monster attacks, but the real dread is slow and grinding, building toward an ending that hits hard and sticks with you. This is one for people who don't mind walking away feeling shaken and a little hopeless rather than just entertained.
