How Dead Snow scares
You'll feel more like you're at a rowdy midnight movie than watching something scary. It moves fast once the action kicks in, with characters getting picked off in increasingly over-the-top and bloody ways, all played with a wink. The zombie Nazi soldiers are relentless and violent, but the tone stays gleefully silly instead of dreadful, with buckets of cartoonish gore played for laughs. It's a great pick if you want gross-out fun with friends, not something that will actually unsettle you.
On The Horror Database's 0–5 scare profile, Dead Snow rates psychological 1/5, visceral 4/5, gore 5/5, lingering effect 1/5, and overall intensity 3/5.
